GLEP - Buying Your Vote.

Many of you have received mailers from the Great Lakes Education Project (GLEP) supporting Commissioner Griffin. GLEP has spent over $10,000 in mailers to increase Commissioner Griffin's name identification. That money comes at a price for students, parents, teachers, and taxpayers. GLEP supports "for-profit" Charter Schools and Common Core. This is all about money and moving taxpayer dollars from public school systems to shareholders, corporate boards, and universities. I believe we need charter school reform because there is too much money that is unaccounted for. We are talking about billions of taxpayer dollars that has left our state as a result of Charter School closures.

Bottom line, the Great Lakes Education Project (GLEP) supports "for-profit" education. That's right, shareholders need a return on their investment, and when they can’t increase shareholder value through tax incentives & specialized funding programs these schools close and leave parents looking for another school for their child. This creates chaos for the parent and child.

Let me ask you, why would GLEP spend over $10,000 to fill Aric Nesbitt's open seat…control. GLEP knows that they can’t control a candidate who has integrity and speaks the truth. GLEP knows that they can’t control a candidate who understands how money is filtered through the system to special interest groups. We have a saying in Special Forces when tracking terrorist groups “follow the money.” If you follow the money, you'll see what the problem is in Lansing--special interests buying influence.

People say they are tired of politicians and politics and they want real leadership in Lansing. Well, I’m that candidate. We may not agree on every issue, but I stand up for what is right. GLEP is trying to buy this election and it isn't right.
